Common Mistakes of Wedding Invitations

General Wedding Stationery Help

June 4, 2020

Planning your wedding invitations? Make sure that they are all about the two of you and avoid the most common of mistakes. Read on to find out about the most common wedding invitation mistakes that we’ve seen.

Leaving it too late

A mistake that we see all the time is couples leaving it until the very last minute to order their wedding invitations. Whilst on average we can turn around most orders within 7 working days of a design being approved, leaving placing an order until the last minute doesn’t allow time for those unfortunate but possible circumstances that could delay your order reaching you.

We always recommend placing your order at least 4 weeks before you plan to send your wedding stationery out. This just gives ourselves and you a little leeway to allow for any unfortunate delays.

Not reading and reading again

We always recommend that you have another person, a family member or friend, for example, proof-read your invitations before you confirm the design with us. Sadly we’re all only human, and therefore it’s worth having an extra pair of eyes check over everything to make sure there are no errors or mistakes in any of the information.

Compromising on designs and card

Nowadays, the sky is truly the limit when it comes to wedding stationery. You can have just about any design and any card that you can dream of. We have heard in the past of couples who end up wishing that they had done something differently. They opted to compromise to save on cost or time, and then wished they had gone with their original plan further down the line.

Our advice - unless it’s mission critical, don’t compromise!

Not personalising your wording

If you aren’t a traditionally soppy couple, why would you go for traditionally soppy wording? We always recommend adjusting the wording of your wedding invites to make sure they perfectly suit the pair of you!
